Continue with universal testing in first trimester

Though universal testing may cause anxiety to several pregnants, (if not to their majority), there are great benefits when "unknown" DM is early diagnosed. 

If a pregnant is not already diagnosed with overt DM:

R 2.1 Perform universal testing for DM, in 1^st trimester or as soon as after, using one of the following parameters

• Fasting plasma Glu or
• HbA_1c or
• Untimed random plasma Glu (1++)

Is any of the previous parameters detected elevated?
