Start antibioticsYou decide to start Jack on intravenous antibiotics for his chest infection. Following protocol, you select Amoxicillin as the most appropriate antibiotic.
You reassess him: HR 125/min, RR 35/min, T 37.5 C, SaO2 91% in Oxygen. His chest findings are unchanged – mild recession and reduced air entry on the right side. Jack is getting increasing unhappy at being in the department away from his normal environment, and his parents request that either he be discharged or that he is admitted.
Jack parents ask you what is going to happen next. What is your plan now? |
