That does not sound right. Adverse effects associated with thiazide diuretics include volume depletion, hyponatremia, hypokalaemia and orthostatic hypotension. These can precipitate falls, especially in winter conditions, but thiazide-type agents decrease urinary calcium loss and can be modestly favourable for bone over time. This does not increase intrinsic fracture susceptibility.
