Decreased entry of glucose into muscle cells

This is incorrect; in fact, decreased entry of glucose into muscle cells would exacerbate hyperglycaemia. Metformin actually promotes skeletal muscle glucose uptake, whereas decreased entry is a feature of insulin resistance rather than a drug effect.
