Air bubbleYou take the slide out and carefully observe it. Macroscopically you can now see that there are some air bubbles in the preparation. You talk to Professor Johnson for advice. Professor Johnson: ‘You need to start over and prepare a new slide taking extra care to add the cover slip very slowly and carefully to avoid air bubbles.’ You: ‘Thank for the advice Professor I will try again. Is there anything else I should consider while making the wet mount. I would really like to avoid other mistakes.’ Professor Johnson: ‘That is a very good approach. Other difficulties you may encounter while preparing a wet mount including getting dirt on your slide as well as technical issues including having the objective out of place or the light off center. So, make sure your microscope is in good condition and your material are clean’ Once you finish troubleshooting you make a new wet mount following your professors’ advice.
