Maria is a 65 year olld woman with a diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis. She is also overweight, with a BMI of 28. During a party she meets with a physiotherapist friend and asks what she should do for her pain that has been getting worse for the past few weeks. Her friend recommends light activity (such as walking, stretching and maybe swimming, if possible). She says that weight loss and muscle strengthening could have a positive impact on her pain levels.
