Methionine

You prescribe methionine. An hour later, you are paged to see Andrew who continues to be unwell. You reflect on the events of the evening and realize that methionine is an oral substitute for N-acetyl cysteine. This drug may also be used to replenish glutathione levels, if N-acetyl cysteine is not available. You realize that since you administered N acetyl cysteine, there was no reason to prescribe this drug and this is not helpful for Andrew.

Please go back and try again.
