Activated charcoal

While you are writing up the drug chart, you remember that activated charcoal acts by preventing absorption of drugs. This is why it is useful when given within 1-4 hours of ingestion i.e. before absorption is completed. Thinking about the severe state that Andrew is in, you think that consumption of paracetamol may have occured at least two days ago. You start to re-consider your options.

Go back and re-consider.
