Bisoprolol (Beta-blocker)

You administer bisoprolol as you remember that beta blockers are effective in preventing disease progression in chronic heart failure. You expect that this will also reduce Mrs. Reed's blood pressure and heart rate.

Later that evening, Dr. Taylor is frantically looking for you. She tells you that Mrs. Reed experienced cardiogenic shock, presumably due to beta blockade, which has now been appropriately managed.

Since this is a virtual patient, please go back and re-consider.
