Spectrophotometer

While a spectrophotometer is a highly useful tool in many laboratory settings, especially for quantifying nucleic acids or proteins by measuring absorbance at specific wavelengths, it is not designed for visualizing DNA fragments resulting from restriction enzyme digestion. The challenge here involves separating and visualizing DNA fragments of different sizes, which is not something spectrophotometry can accomplish.

While spectrophotometry can assess the amount and purity of DNA after extraction or purification from the suspect’s biological sample, another technique is necessary to get insight into the fragment patterns resulting from restriction digestion. Keep considering methods that can distinctly display the results of the DNA digestion experiment.
