Do nothing more than therapyAnna thinks that going to her therapy would be more than enough to help her manage her pain of her OA. After a few weeks she has a flare up and her pain level is very high. She becomes frustrated and irritated. Her catastrophizing thoughts become more prominent and she seems to be relapsing into her previous patterns of functioning. Self-management of chronic pain for osteoarthritis needs to be based on a holistic approach using both non pharmacological and pharmacological treatments according to each patient's needs. |
