Patient's quality of life becomes worse

Resting for some days had no impact on the pain levels. As soon as the patient returned to his daily activities the pain was there having a serious impact on all of the areas of his life. 

Having no further knowledge on the matter, without any idea that more things could be done about his pain, he remained in the same situation without going back to his GP for a further consultation. 

Chronic pain left undiagnosed and/or untreated has a tremendous impact on patients' quality of life. They gradually avoid any kind of movement due to the pain and they can even get into a catastrophizing way of thinking. This may lead for them to become less active, avoidant of their daily routines, become isolated and depresse

Left untreated knee OA can lead to severe disability and have a serious impact on the quality of life patients.
