She still resists making a doctor's appointment

Mrs AP never liked going to doctors. She avoids it as much as possible so she keeps on trying to self medicate by using over the counter medicines, following advice from online friends. They suggest all kinds of medicinal or herbal products. But she is not absolutely certain what is appropriate for her, even though they sound ok, everybody say they are great. She read somewhere about a patient that used an over the counter product unsupervised and had to deal with some adverse effects. So, she is a bit hesitant and rethinks the whole situation. 

After a few days her pain level becomes unbearable and she literally cannot use her hand.
