Mrs AP is a 60-year-old woman with hand osteoarthritis

Mrs AP is overweight, with a BMI of 32, and has hypertension and diabetes mellitus. 

When she meets up with her neighbour she often mentions the pain in her hand, the stiffness in her joint and how she cannot handle her everyday chores. Her life has become more diffucult than ever. She cannot even take care of her grandchild, even though she really wants to. 

Her neighbour says that she had a similar problem, with her hand OA, and she went to the doctor as soon as the pain level increased.

She even said that she had to get intra-articular injections and had to learn how to manage better her pain.
