Cut down on sugar intake

Maria discussed with her physiotherapist friend on the need to lose some weight and maintain a normal body BMI, so she can have a positive impact on her pain levels.

She has read somewhere on the internet, and there is scientific evidence, that excessive sugar intake is linked to inflammation which can be one of the risk factors for chronic pain. So, she immediately cuts down on her sugar intake. She avoids all sugary drinks and foods and see immediate results by losing weight in the first few weeks.

In a social gathering she meets with her physiotherrapist friend again and she mentions her dietary adjustments. Her friend suggests that visiting a nutritionist would be a good idea to be able to have a dietary plan according to her daily needs and maybe not to feel entirely deprived of sugar. She also mentioned that drinking a lot of water is always helpful, not with chronic pain, but in general for our well being.
