Next visit

In one week’s time you are again in the clinic. Davina and her parents do not attend. You write a letter to their family doctor letting him know and asking him to check that she still needs to be seen.

You send Davina another appointment for 2 weeks.

At 2 weeks again Davina does not attend.
Attempts to make contact with the family are not successful.

Six months later the gastroenterology consultant speaks to you about Davina. She was referred directly to her clinic by her family doctor. She has severe growth faltering, rickets and anaemia.

Following her last clinic visit she was seen by a private nutritionist and complementary therapists for several months. Eventually her parents noticed that her legs were bowed and wrists swollen and took her back to their family doctor.
