If glycemic control is insufficient, initiate pharmacological therapy

In the cases where glycemic control is insufficient after 1 week under medical nutrition therapy and exercise, pharmacological therapy needs to be initiated. The availiable choices are:

  • insulin therapy and
  • Non-insulin therapy (oral Glu lowering agents).
