Child's medical record

Both GDM and overt DM during pregnancy, are strongly associated with childhood obesity and higher rates of diabetes and metabolic disorders in adulthood. Child's medical record can be therefore "predictive" for the adult health, and furthermore be a reason to follow more strict lifestyle measures to achieve a well-being.

R 2.4c Suggest the child’s birth weight and whether or not the child was born to a mother with GDM become part of the child’s permanent medical record. (ungraded)
