Epilogue

Over the next several months, Amy diligently follows the treatment plan prescribed by her healthcare team. Although she experiences periods of improvement, where her symptoms are well-controlled, she continues to encounter intermittent challenges.

At her most recent follow-up, Dr. Christou reviews her progress. She has achieved only partial asthma control, despite adherence to a maximally optimized ICS/LABA regimen and montelukast.

You explain to Amy that she may require additional treatment strategies beyond ICS, LABA, and montelukast to control her asthma, although you will need to run some tests to see what is the best course of action.

Amy is disappointed that additional medications may be necessary, but she understands that managing asthma can be challenging. She agrees to undergo the recommended tests to help tailor her treatment regimen more effectively.
