Fehling’s Test Procedure

You and Monica proceed to carry out the test following the experimental protocol below:

1. Add 1 mL of Fehling 1 solution to a test tube.

2. Add 1 mL of Fehling 2 solution to the same test tube.

3. Add 2mL of the urine sample to the test tube and mix well. 

4. The control sample is prepared as above, using sucrose instead of urine.

5. Boil for one minute and observe any color changes and the formation of precipitate.
